Meet Boruch (Boris) Shub.

“The first time I stepped into this Shul was on Simchas Torah, 1948. I was seven years old. My father died before I was old enough to remember him, so my uncle Aron brought me.”

“Have you ever read Sholom Aleichem?” Boruch asked. “That’s what this neighborhood looked like. There were hundreds of Jews living here, and they all looked like Jews from the Shtetl. That first time I came to Shul was a real sight. Everyone was dancing with the Torahs.

“But that was all from a different lifetime. Today, I am happy to see that the community focuses on the youth. They are our future.”
